Applications of Dimple Sheets
Dimple Sheet
Dimple sheet is a polymer product designed for effective water control and drainage in geotechnical structures. By efficiently draining structures, this product reduces the water pressure in the soil and helps maintain the stability of structures.
Dimple sheets are drainage sheets that, due to the protrusions across the entire surface, have very high resistance to impact loads and allow fluid flow underneath the sheet. Modern drainage systems, in addition to providing better drainage for structures compared to traditional methods, significantly reduce the cost and construction time of walls by eliminating a large portion of drainage materials.
If the dimple sheet is placed directly next to the backfill soil of the wall, the dimple sheet cavities will be filled with soil particles, reducing its drainage capacity. Therefore, it is necessary to first place a layer of geotextile as a separator between the dimple sheet and the backfill soil to prevent the dimple sheet cavities from being filled with soil particles. The water present in the soil, after being absorbed by the dimple sheet, moves along the dimple sheet and is transferred to the drainage material at the bottom of the wall. Inside this material, a drainage pipe is installed that directs the water outside the structure.
Applications of Dimple Sheets
Dimple sheets have numerous applications. They can be used as drainage systems for metro tunnels, road and railway tunnels. Drain sheets are also used for foundations and deep excavations in residential and commercial complexes and towers. Additionally, dimple sheets can be used for temporary and permanent reinforcement of structures. In green roofs, they are used as drainage systems.
Other applications include:
No need for drying before installation
Flame retardant capability based on project requirements
Appropriate compressive strength according to the project
No water accumulation due to permeability
Achieving effective waterproofing with overlapping sheets
Improved concrete quality because it does not absorb the cement paste
High resistance to concrete spraying
Free of environmental pollutants and safe for living organisms
Lightweight, easy to transport and install, and no need for complex tools and equipment
High flexural and tensile strength and flexibility for contact with uneven surfaces
What are Advantages of Dimple Sheets?
Compressive Strength: Appropriate for the project due to its lightweight and wide width.
Easy and Quick Installation: Product dimensions can be adjusted according to the project.
Water Permeability: Water does not accumulate in it as water passes through.
Non-Flammable Types Available: Completely hygienic with no contaminants affecting drinking water.
Resistance to Bending and Stretching: Highly flexible when in contact with uneven surfaces.
Interlocking Capability: Sheets can be connected and locked together.
Improved Concrete Quality: Does not absorb the cement paste, thus improving concrete quality.
High Resistance to Concrete Spraying Pressure.
